Accessibility

At Saunawelt, we believe in the power of community and inclusion. We embrace the principle of "All Bodies, All Abilities" and aim to create a welcoming and accessible environment for all guests, including those with mobility, sight, hearing, and other disabilities. Our sauna house has been thoughtfully designed to ensure an inclusive experience, with accessible facilities located in the same area as those for the general public.

To help us ensure your visit is as comfortable and seamless as possible, we kindly ask that guests who require specific accommodations or who will be visiting with a companion or carer notify us by telephone or email once their booking is confirmed. This advance notice will allow our team to be prepared for your arrival and offer any assistance you may need.

ACCESSIBILITY FEATURES

Accessible Parking and Entrance

Handicap-accessible parking spaces are in front of the building. Our entrance is accessible via a ramp.

Changing Rooms & Showers

There is one accessible private changing cabin located in the Changing Village. Lockers are located nearby to store your clothes and belongings. An accessible showerhead with wall-mounted grab bars is part of the communal shower area. Swimwear is required in the showers.

Restrooms

Two accessible restrooms are located across the hallway from the Changing Village. Each restroom is equipped with grab bars and other necessary features.

Sauna Features

Accessible features include the Finnish Sauna, Herbal Sauna, Steam Room, Cold-Water Bucket Shower, and Cool Mist Room. Please note that these experiences require wheelchairs and walking aids to withstand heat and resist water. You can, alternatively, sit on the benches with a companion. The infrared loungers may be accessed with the help of a companion or carer.

Relaxation Lounges

Both indoor and outdoor lounge spaces in Saunawelt are accessible. Guests will find in the indoor lounge refillable water stations, a tea bar, and various forms of seating. In the outdoor lounge, only the top level is accessible for wheelchairs and those with limited mobility.

ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS

Communication

We can provide alternative ways of communicating, such as written materials or Braille, if you ask. (Not yet available)

Companions and Carers

While our facility is designed to meet accessibility requirements, we advise guests with specific accessibility needs to visit the sauna house with a friend or carer who can help them get around the facility. Our staff aren't available to push guests around the facility, nor are they trained in 'person manual handling'.

Companions and carers with the relevant identification get complimentary entry when accompanying a paying guest who needs assistance. Guests must select a companion/carer when completing the booking process.

Electric Wheelchairs and Scooters

Please use a standard wheelchair when visiting the sauna house. Electric wheelchairs and mobility scooters aren't allowed inside the facility, and we can't guarantee that electric wheelchairs or mobility scooters can be stored during your visit due to limited space and passageways/fire exits that must remain clear at all times. Electric wheelchairs and mobility scooters must be parked outside the entrance under the responsibility of the owner.

Service Animals

We are unable to accommodate service dogs or emotional support animals of any kind within the Facility for reasons of hygiene and allergies. We recommend a friend or carer accompany you.

Modifications

We are open to modifying our services to accommodate individual needs, as long as it doesn't compromise safety or hygiene standards. We believe that everyone deserves to experience the benefits of relaxation and feeling refreshed. If you have any questions or concerns regarding accessibility, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Signage

To ensure accessibility for individuals with limited vision, our signage has been placed at eye level, is well-lit, and free of obstructions. We've used high-contrast colours, large text, and simple language. Additionally, we've incorporated tactile elements like Braille or raised lettering, which can further enhance accessibility and provide a more inclusive environment for all visitors.

Website

In our commitment to making our website accessible to all users, we have implemented the UserWay Accessibility Widget to enhance usability. You can activate the widget by clicking the accessibility icon located on the screen, where you’ll find tools designed to improve your browsing experience, including options for text size adjustments, contrast settings, keyboard navigation, and more.
